What shows up on your health insurance bill?
If you were to get a procedure done that you didn’t want your parents/husband/wife to find out about, would it show up on their health insurance bill, if you have a joint plan?

Health plans usually submit an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to the enrollee upon adjudication (payment or denial) of a claim submitted on their policy. There is no standard EOB format, so your plan might list "service rendered", or "surgery", or "appendectomy". Some might even include diagnosis codes in addition to the procedure.
You can call the plan and ask them what information they print on EOBs.
If you are asking whether these services will appear on the bill for the premium payment, probably not. Call the plan to be sure.
