I’ve noticed recently, that the horse i’m working with seems to always be stiff when i ride, or just when he’s walking around. His owner takes him out 2-3 times a year and runs him around for hours at a time, and his owner is definatly not on the light side…I often am stuck caring for sore backs once his owner is done.
But, i was wondering, that my horse has really short strides, and long legs. I’m not sure if he’s got arthritis, or just joint problems. But i was wondering if maybe i should put him on joint supplements for a month, see how that goes, and if it helps, should i continue it? I tried stretching him out before and after riding for a while, and it didn’t seem to help. Anyone have any suggestions?
Extra details are. The horse is turned out from 8am-4pm. And stalled from teh time in between. Hes only about 9, which is really why i’m concerned about this stiffness with him. I’m starting him on jumping, so i just want the best for him, and want to be able to have him preform to his fullest without having anything holding him back. He’s a great horse, with loads of potential.
I’ve also noticed that when i lead him from the stall to the tackroom his head is a bit down, his strides are short, and he just seems to walk slow and stiff. Even when i don’t ride him for a week, he’s the same.
Should I be feeding my senior dog supplements for joint care?
I’m 26 years old and haven’t lifted heavy for 3 years. I started lifting when I was 14 and at 20 began to do more cardio and lighter weights (reps of 12 to 14). between 20 and 23 I shuffled around from light to heavy with cardio. 23 to 26 I did more cardio and liftid light. Now it’s been 2 months since I started lifting heavy (8 to 10 reps) split routine and my joints have been aching. Sometimes it’s my elbows then my knees. Sometimes my lower and mid back start hurting and feel heavy at times. I feel like I’m too young to experience this but I have been lifting weights for a while and also worked alot of physically demanding jobs. I do sleep my 8 hours a night, take my supplements, and eat properly. Am I doing something wrong?
I am taking :
One-A-Day Vitman for general health
Glucosamine for my knee joint
Bone Complete for bone
Fish oil
Royal Jelly
Shark oil pill
Sheep placenta
Each have different purpose.
Doctor said no matter how much one eat, it won’t get all the nutrition, so supplements are necessary. But my question is …. if I take all this pill, is it health?
I am trying very hard to find real wholesale prices and droshipping for pet health supplies on the net. Like the cosequin ds joint supplements for dogs for example. Any help would be very appreciated although free resources or companies that are free to register with would be more appreciated. Thanks.
I do not take any supplements. I just eat a lot of food that contains protein.
Someone suggested this…
http://www.calcompnutrition.com/supple-ingredients.html
But I get the feeling that there’s something more healthy our there.
If I got these supplements alone…
Glucosamin HCL (Shellfish-Free)
1.5g (1,500mg)
CS Chondroitan Sulfate
1.2g (1.200mg)
wouldn’t that be better since there wouldn’t be any other additives?
What else should I take?
Since you didn’t provide a link, I Googled Elations and found that it’s not any healthier than Supple.

In fact, it’s worse.
Oh, you mean this thing?

The ingredients aren’t even listed. What a horrible website that is. I’m probably allergic to those pills.
I did gymnastics while growing up, and now at 25, my joints are paying for it. Can anyone recommend any good vegetarian joint supplements? My main problem with supplements, however, is their taste. I start taking them for a week or two and then I quit, because I can’t stand the taste. Right now, I take Rhino Beanie Vites, which are gelatin-free and delicious. I have been taking them regularly for months now, because they taste wonderful and I look forward to them everyday.
And please, no comments on being vegetarian. I have been doing it for 12 years now and have absolutely no intention of quitting.
I have labradors, and i was wondering, should i start them on a joint supplement now?
As you may know, Labs are prone to hip dysplasia, and i want to prevent that with my dog.
so, do you think i should start my dogs on joint and hip supplements now?
btw; my labs are from the ages 8 months, to 4 years.
and i have 3
Ok, so my dad also owns a lab, and he gives him a fish oil tablet everyday, he just buys the regular ones from walmart, i think they are naturemade brand
would that be the kind i would get if i wanted to start my labs on those?
just the regular human kind?
I train in traditional jujitsu and over the last 6 mths I’ve been plagued by bad joint pain particularly in by elbows (tennis elbow). I’ve been taking supplements to help & manintain my joints (cod liver oil, MSM, glucosamine, chronditron(sic)) but even after 3 weeks rest (advised by a doctor) still find my left elbow, in particular, hurting. I put this down to not tapping out early enough (you’ve got to know how how much it hurts right?!).
Apart from obviously rest, has anyone any tips whereby I could maintain my suppleness and joint integrity without impacting on my training? Has anyone suffered recuring joint pain due to there training? How did you overcome it?
I usually run 3-6 miles a day 3-4 days a week. My dad recently emailed me an article that said people who have had knee problems (i.e. surgery) should not run and find other forms of exercise because it greatly increased the chance of future problems. I am 30 years old and had ACL surgery about 5 years ago (with no problems since). I love to run – its my way of keeping myself sane! Are there any good supplements for joint health. Any certain exercises to stregthen knees? I plan to keep running but I want to be able to walk when I’m 60! Thanks for any advice!
First – to Carolina Sunshine – 30 is too old for running!?! I guess I’ll just go ahead and take up crossword puzzles or knitting!!! How old are you? – just kidding. Second – I know walking would be better but it’s just too boring and I don’t feel like I get a good workout. 3rd – thanks for all the advice, I will look at the supplements you guys named today!
My grandmother has arthritis in her hands and she takes medication, but it only helps to a certain extent.
I was wondering if there were any supplements or natural treatments that may help her?
My grandmother suffers from intense gouty arthritis and has been hospitalized numerous times in the previous years. Other than changing her diet and excercise, are there any highly renowned supplements that have had alot of positive reviews? Cherry supplements seem to be popular but I cant seem to find any that encompass a variety of natural herbs. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I’m not sure what kind of arthritis I have. I always assumed that it was osteoarthritis because I don’t have any disfigured joints. However, after reading more about rheumatoid arthritis, I wonder if I have that. My joints all over are stiff and achy and my fingers are puffy. I heard that fish oil is good. How much of this can I safely take? What about other supplements? Thanks!
I am a 25 year-old ballerina in a university dance program. I dance about 9 hours/wk and I was wondering if it is too early for me to start taking joint -care supplements. I know that dancers are highly prone to bone, muscle, and joint damage, and I would like to prevent that kind of damage to my own body.
I go to the university’s rec center 3-4x a week during the summer and 2-3x during school for 90min-2hours to work on my muscles (to be long and strong).
I’m a cheerleader and i have like the worst joints on the planet haha lol…. everything cracks and pops and hurts all the time, especially after practice… or if i’m sitting in a position for a while and stand up my knees, hips, and back all hurt. i’ve suffered many sports injuries due to my crap-tastic joints and i was wondering if there are any [safe/healthy] products out there for me? like joint supplements?
I read that an unhealthy overworked colon that does it’s job less efficiently can result in unprocessed toxins that end up reaching the joints and that building up and creating sore joint pain
- so secondly would anyone know of any effective colon cleansing supplements – Thank You very much for any help!

It’s always good to look at research done on both sides of the issue, so for anyone that’s done that, Thank you.
