I am in good shape and good health, but in my family arthritis and the likes are genetically present. As the years pass I feel more and more soreness and pain, mostly in my fingers, but lately my shoulder started to hurt. I am not taking any specific medicine and try to work out 5 times a week, some leight weight lifting and also some cardio. I am not overweight and try to eat reasonably.
A friend of mine suggested taking Glucosamine tablets to help reduce pain and prevent further problems.
Any suggestions? Personal experience?
Thxs a lot in advance.

I found out she had arthritis a month ago and i’ve been giving her medicine for it since then, could that be causing weight gain?

My cousin came over today and said my cat felt and looked heavier and asked if she gained weight.

I have a dog that is suffering from Arthritis. He is taking Rimadyl for it. But the medicine is not helping him. What else can I do for him?

I have a 5 year old 90 lb dog that has arthritis in his back legs. I was wondering what over-the-counter human medicine and dosage I can give him for the pain. I am not able to take him to the vet at this time. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I buy my Rottweilers arthritis medication on Ebay, but we had to stop giving it to her because it was making her stomach upset. I don’t remember what it was called, it was some brown liquid.

I need to start giving her some new medicine because Asprin isn’t working for her.

What are some HIGHLY recommended non Rx medications I can look into buying for my Rottweiler?

Im 16, female. I was recently diagnosed with arthritis in my hands/fingers. Until my medication arrives, is there any helpful tips I can use to ease the pain? Its really sharp and sometimes I can’t even hold objects. Anything like heat, or massage tips I can do myself during school? Please nothing that involves medicine, since I have some one the way, thanks a million!

I have been on some heavy doses of medicine for ulcerative colitis and recently stopped taking them all at once. I know this isn’t the best move, but I am very religious and felt God would take care of me. While my stomach is as good as ever, I started to develop muscle and joint pains for the past 2 weeks all over, mostly my hands, arms and legs. I was on 30mg of Predisone, 750mg 9 times a day of Colazol, Remicade every 8 weeks, Immurin 225mg/day, and Cipro 500mg twice a day. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have assumed it is all from withdrawal, but wanted to make sure. Thanks!

He is 3 years old. We pay 304 plus 200 a month and his income doesn’t even equal enough to pay that and help with the bills. His mother is useless.. good at having babies is about it. we have him at least half of the year if not more. He is in jail right now for back child support and I am having to watch him because she keeps telling me she has things to do…. I don’t think it is my place to watch him while she goes and runs around. but I don’t mind because that way i know he is taken care of. I had to take him to the doc because she wouldnt. Then she got mad i took him. Then i send the medicine home with her to give him and I get him back yesterday and she had left the medicine in her van for two days.. they had to be refrig. So I had to go fork out more money and buy all new.. She is a poor excuse for a mother.. Is there any way we could maybe get custody under these circumstances? at least joint custody. I really need advice.. he has another child with me.. He loves his children more than anything. and does the best he can financially..

which age people can start using this Glucosamine tablets? Is this medicine helpful to the people who are already suffering with joint pains ?

Arthritis and such runs in the family, my grandmother doesn’t even have her real hips anymore. The pains have been getting worse and it’s definitely not from a lack of movement. Does anyone know of joint meds or even doctors? Homeopathic medicine, just anything. I’m in Northern NJ.

My boyfriend is in Iraq. He may need to come home on a medical leave because he is experiencing excruciating pain in his joints (maybe something like gout). He is also running a high grade fever.

What type of doctor should I make him an appointment with? Regular doctor? Sports medicine doctor?

I’ve been suffering with SI joint pain for sometime now, with numbness and pain in my leg (for 6 weeks). I had X-rays and an MRI which didn’t reveal anything more than slight swelling in my SI joints. My orthopedic doctor gave me some medicine to reduce the swelling and prescribed physical therapy.

Therapy isn’t helping much, nor did the medicine. I have another appointment with my ortho. doctor who I suspect will be recommending injections to reduce swelling/pain.

So with all that being said, I’m about ready to give up on traditional medicine…and try something else or just suck it up and hope it gets better.

Anyone had similar experiences or any suggestions?

I take 200 mg Celebrex every day for arthritis. My RN friend says she takes Mobic 15 mg and it is the only arthritis medicine her hospital prescribes since it is safer and works better than Celebrex. I want to know why it is safer and what, if any, are the side effects?
