How come whenever i use the leg extension weight machine, i get a small pain in my left knee. Its only at a certain angle, about 80 degrees. This happens even on the lowest weights. My legs are not tired and im not straining, but when i get to that certain angle, i feel that pain in my left knee. What is it from? What can i do about it?
I’m not completely sure what kind of injury it is (muscle, joint or something else), so I don’t know if I should be using it, staying off it, cooling it or heating it. O_o
Last night I was practicing kick-boxing, but I’m still somewhat of a novice, and I wratched up my left knee. I’m not sure if it happened when I was kicking with that leg, or when I was twisting on it to kick with my other. I didn’t notice anything till I stopped.
Now I get a real shooting pain (right near the kneecap, on the outside edge of it) when I stand on it straight (when you lock the knee), and when I bike or use stairs it kind of grinds or clicks. O_o It is only a bit swollen and warm, on the outside side of the kneecap, and also when I walk it feels like there’s a pillow in my knee.
I was going to go running tonight – is it still ok to do so? Running on it doesn’t seem to hurt it.
So, any advice?? Does anyone know exactly what I did to my knee? Thanks!!
Oh, I should mention that it doesn’t actually hurt unless I lock it, or put to much weight on it while it’s bent (ie: stairs).
It feels weird when I walk and bike, but doesn’t hurt.
I am running to get ready to go to Marine Corps boot camp, today during my run I got a sharp pain on the outside of my left knee but I couldn’t stop because I was running with the other recruits. After I got home I noticed that it hurt worse when I went down the stairs. It feels like bone rubbing against bone, I have had these pains before but I always just stopped working out and they went away after a few days. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I want to be able to do this when I get to boot camp without hurting so much.
When i’ve been out on my road bike for long rides (50+ miles) i get a very specific pain on the inside of my left knee cap. im using shimano spd pedals and cleats how can i eliminate this?
I am getting a sharp (stabbing) pain on the front left side of my left knee and it hurts really bad. I hurt it originally while carrying 250 lb doors down a flight of stairs and it lasted for a day and could not put any weight on it. It went away for a week and now returned today. What could it be?
A couple months ago my left knee started hurting really bad, not only when i walked but even just laying in bed. I went to the doctor and they said i had condromalacia platella and i went to physio. The pain went away at first but then it would come back, go away, come back then go away agian. I’m usually quite active and the pain gets so bad sometimes that i can’t even walk. I’m concerened that there might be something else wrong any help?
I have had pain in my knees and ankles since I was 15. I am 31 now and last night woke up with severe pain in my left knee, both ankles and throughout my feet as well as pain in my neck, hands and left elbow. The pain was so severe that just standing made me nauseated. Moving my feet in any way hurt as if I had broken my ankles.
Yes I have had an MRI done, blood test, you name it. The doctors say they can’t find anything wrong with me.
From running so much I have the worst shin splints, and pretty bad pain in my left knee, and so-so pain in my right knee. Some days my legs just throb all day, but some days they only hurt when I use them. The other day, they were killing. My mom said maybe we should go to the doctor to get it checked out.
What would the doctors do? X-rays? Refer me to physical therapy?
Whats up with my knee??? It hurts in the inner lower front section of my left knee. It feels like a toothache kind of pain and gets worst when I go down stairs or walk around too much. I’ve had x-rays and there is nothing wrong with the knee itself but its been months now and the pain will not go away.
Every time i run, i have pain in my left knee. It does not swell but it hurts on impact. This happens right as i start running, within 100 yards. I just started running to train, and i have tried insoles especially for knee pain from drug stores. I wear my running shoes everywhere but i just bought new ones and they are in the mail so i can have a pair only for running. if anyone has a serious answer please tell me because i need to start running. Thank you
Whenever I have a partner help me with the v-stretch, such as helping me open up my legs wider, I get this strong pain on the inside of my left knee. Now, I make sure I don’t overstretch. If I open up my legs as wide as I can without any help, I feel no pain. I’ve also tried using one of those leg stretching machines, but I still get the pain in my knee. The pain only seems to occur when I’m being assisted. What could this possibly be?
I have been having feelings of tightness and sharp spasms of pain in my left knee. The pain varies in intensity and comes and goes. I’ve noticed it only occasionally before, but in the past week it has become more severe and almost constant. It seems to feel the worst when I am in bed and changing positions. I have never had an injury to the leg or anything like that. In fact, I am not athletic at all. I have an extensive family history of osteoarthritis, but this seems unlikely as I am only 23-years-old. I am wondering if my lack of much physical activity could be the cause of the pain?
I have been doing bikram yoga for a little over a week now and just today i found that all of the locking of the legs has made my knee caps a little sore, with a sharp, but bearable pain in my left knee cap. what essential oil, or blend is best for massaging on the knee cap area?
I love to run. Over the past few weeks, after running I get a pain on the side of my left knee. It hurts most during the motion of extending or bending the knee and in certain positions. The pain subsides after a day or two. There is no swelling. Any clues as to what the problem might be?
I always stretch before and after running and have tried running with a knee brace – neither seem to help. After the last run, I’ve decided to stop running for at least a month to let the injury heal.
I wanted to work out and exercise this summer to get in shape for tennis and lose a few lbs, however i just got runner’s knee, which gives me mild knee pain on the left knee. Is there any cardio exercises i can still do effectively while not overusing the knee?
I recently injured my knee at work after either lifting or pulling pallets. I feel a slight strain to no pain while up and walking around during the day, but while i’m lying down for long periods of time (e.g. sleeping) I can wake up and my knee is in imense pain, that I sometimes need to jump up out of bed to make go away. It is on the right side of my left knee. There is no sign of bruising, and very slight swelling. Any ideas?
I have alot of pain in my left knee, almost constantly, and it’s usually swollen. I haven’t had an injury to the knee, but I did injure my right knee several years ago. I am wondering if anyone knows of any exercises or anything to help strengthen my knee and to relieve pain? Advil helps some, but I wind up having to take so many that my ankles wind up swelling. Any SERIOUS suggestions or remedies would be greatly appreciated.
