Doctor said no matter how much one eat, it won’t get all the nutrition, so supplements are necessary. But my question is …. if I take all this pill, is it health?

She tore her cruciate and now has arthritis>Fish oil is a natural anti-inflammatory.I also give glucosamine and chondrotin-Drs. Foster and Smith Joint Care 1+

my young dog has a knee problem and it is recommended to put her on glucosamine supplements but I was wondering if anyone has ever used the Lakota brand joint care formula on their dog? I know the Lakota brand sells formula for canines but hard to find in Canada and dont want to wait til USA order comes in.
Yes I use it myself so I wondering if its safe for my dog..thanks anyway.

I am in good shape and good health, but in my family arthritis and the likes are genetically present. As the years pass I feel more and more soreness and pain, mostly in my fingers, but lately my shoulder started to hurt. I am not taking any specific medicine and try to work out 5 times a week, some leight weight lifting and also some cardio. I am not overweight and try to eat reasonably.
A friend of mine suggested taking Glucosamine tablets to help reduce pain and prevent further problems.
Any suggestions? Personal experience?
Thxs a lot in advance.

My job requires me to walk in excess of 12 miles a day, and my joints are stiff and sore. I need to take some kind of joint-health supplement to help. I ‘ve been doing my research, but am stuck between Glucosamine Chondritin and SAM-e.

Thanks for you input.

I just read on Wikipedia that the effects are debated as to whether glucosamine and/or chondroitin will help cartilage formation. Does anyone have any personal experience with these? Does anyone know any more solid facts than the couple of sentences on Wikipedia?

Thanks!

I have drank joint juice which contains glucosamine and that irritates my stomach..

Does anyone know any causes for badly aching and stiff joints other than arthritis? I’ve been suffering with them for years in my knees, hips, back and fingers but the test came back negative. I really need to get this sorted soon as it’s causing me to take unhealthy amounts of painkillers just to get through the day, let alone do anything I need to like shopping or even going out full stop.
Ibuprofen and Paracetamol are barely taking the edge off and Glucosamine doesn’t do a thing.
If it helps, I’m 24.

My Rotties are both 13 years old, they still enjoy daily walks and swimming at our beach and show no signs of pain while doing so,as soon as I get home they suffer.Am i doing them wrong by still walking them and is Glucosamine really as good as everbody says?

Did you find success with it? I’d like to hear some success stories. A woman I know stated that it has worked for her and she has stopped taking glucosamine sulfate all together. She was a professional body builder and is now lifting weights again easily without pain.

I train in traditional jujitsu and over the last 6 mths I’ve been plagued by bad joint pain particularly in by elbows (tennis elbow). I’ve been taking supplements to help & manintain my joints (cod liver oil, MSM, glucosamine, chronditron(sic)) but even after 3 weeks rest (advised by a doctor) still find my left elbow, in particular, hurting. I put this down to not tapping out early enough (you’ve got to know how how much it hurts right?!).

Apart from obviously rest, has anyone any tips whereby I could maintain my suppleness and joint integrity without impacting on my training? Has anyone suffered recuring joint pain due to there training? How did you overcome it?

It seems with the change of weather and some of the cats ages they have developed arthritis. It has been said that aspirin is helpful but what about glucosamine? One of them has been prescribed steroids for a hip displacement and although the steroids seem to help dramatically it may be too invasive for some of the others. Your help would be appreciated.

My 11th Month old Puppy has dip dysplasia and the Vets have ruled out a TPO as he shows signs of arthritis. I need help deciding on what course of treatment to use. Adequan (which is a monthly shot) or a supplement pill like Springtime Joint Health Chewables which contains Glucosamine HCL and Chondroitin sulfate. Also if I go with the supplement does anybody have any recomendations? Please help
He was from the pound but thanks for the heads up.
I have explored the surgical options. He has about 30 % of the ball in the hip. Not very good. He is a lab and will most likely be a 90lb skinny dog. The surgery where they just remove the hip joint and create a fake joint is recommended for dogs under 45 pounds. I have spoke with a vet and he said that he has done it on larger dogs with success but it should be a last resort. Thank You for the help.

I know that I should be on glucosamine for my joints(mainly my shoulders) and I think it may have the same cause as the pain in my ankles.

Sometimes when I walk a lot, run, or hike I get a dull pain in my left ankle, right below the end of the fibula(the bump on the outside of your ankle). Often times, it comes with a grinding feeling in the area.

Basically I know what it most likely is, and cannot afford professional treatment or even glucosamine tablets at the moment.(Anything less than -40 for a 1-month supply doesnt really work)

What I want to know is what I can do at home with a small budget to treat or prevent this?

(Was thinking ankle brace and/or arch support pads in shoes, but want other options, and opinions on these)

which age people can start using this Glucosamine tablets? Is this medicine helpful to the people who are already suffering with joint pains ?

My partner broke his ankle a number of years ago, he has just been told he has arthritis in this joint which is causing him pain. The doctor has given painkillers and said to take glucosamine, Can he do anything else ?

My boyfriend recently injured his knees by overexerting them during a bike marathon he didn’t train well enough for. He has been taking glucosamine with Chondroitin and msm, doing some different leg stretches, and icing his knees (20 mins at a time) when they hurt. He has stopped bike riding for the most part, but is very active and plays soccer once a week, and participates in the occasional football game. He knows its better to rest, but there is really no way to stop him from continuing these activities (his choice, not mine). Does anyone else have any tips for knee pain or helping his knees heal faster? Preferably to people that deal with this particular issue.

I am regularly excersizing but have always had a problem with clicking elbows knees etc…

What is better; Cod Liver Oil or Glucosamine & MSM?

Any other suggestions?!

I am 61 and have started feeling pain in my shoulders, knees, and hips associated with arthritis. Does liquid glucosamine-chondroitin-MSM act faster than the pill form of the named ingredients?

(Glucosamine and Chondroitin)?

She is over 60 and has "miniscus" in one of her knees.

My husband is 45 and has shoulder joint pain when he bench presses 200 lbs or more.

I am thinking about buying him some Glucosamine and Chondroitin. However, I am not sure if it really works.

Do any of you know facts about this product?

My 8 year old boxer mix has been showing some signs of arthritis-how much glucosamine supplement should I give him to help his joints operate better?
