I am 56 yrs old and have Rheumatoid arthritis for about 10 yrs now, i had my right knee replaced recently. My arm joints and other joints are paining . Should i proceed with the other knee and if so how much time should i give before operating the other one ? that is should i take 3 months break before performing the other?? should i perform some exercises?

After about 15-20 minutes of running the inside of my knee starts to get really stiff and i have to stop due to the pain. This is a huge problem since i am leaving for the navy in April. So is there any exercises i can do to strengthen the ligaments and muscles inside my knee to get that stiffness to go away?

My mom was advised by her doctor to have knee replacement surgery due to her arthritis. However, since she’s diabetic, he also advised that she lose 30-50 pounds prior to surgery. Her diet is fine, but she really needs to incorporate more exercise to help get the weight off. Besides water aerobics, what are some low impact exercises she can do that would put pressure and strain on her knees? Thanks.

I usually run 3-6 miles a day 3-4 days a week. My dad recently emailed me an article that said people who have had knee problems (i.e. surgery) should not run and find other forms of exercise because it greatly increased the chance of future problems. I am 30 years old and had ACL surgery about 5 years ago (with no problems since). I love to run – its my way of keeping myself sane! Are there any good supplements for joint health. Any certain exercises to stregthen knees? I plan to keep running but I want to be able to walk when I’m 60! Thanks for any advice!
First – to Carolina Sunshine – 30 is too old for running!?! I guess I’ll just go ahead and take up crossword puzzles or knitting!!! How old are you? – just kidding. Second – I know walking would be better but it’s just too boring and I don’t feel like I get a good workout. 3rd – thanks for all the advice, I will look at the supplements you guys named today!

This summer my mom started feeling pain in her right elbow. Later her whole arm would hurt so the doctor said it was probably Tendinitis so she gave her a few exercises to do. Now her joints in her wrist, knees, ankles and toes sometimes hurt. Doctors still don’t know what it could be. Any ideas??

I don’t see my Ob/Gyn until the third of July. If the pain continues or gets worse I will call and speak with their nursing staff. I am wondering what I can do in the meantime to help. It is to the point that I get sharp pain everytime I walk. Are there home remedies or exercises for S.I. Joint pain?

I am 11 weeks pregnant, so no anti-inflammatories can be used.
Thank you!

My mom has really bad arthritis in her legs and is making her life miserable. Does anyone know of any kind of medication, natural remedies or exercises that could help?

I have alot of pain in my left knee, almost constantly, and it’s usually swollen. I haven’t had an injury to the knee, but I did injure my right knee several years ago. I am wondering if anyone knows of any exercises or anything to help strengthen my knee and to relieve pain? Advil helps some, but I wind up having to take so many that my ankles wind up swelling. Any SERIOUS suggestions or remedies would be greatly appreciated.
