Does glucosamine or chondroitin work to help joint pain?
I just read on Wikipedia that the effects are debated as to whether glucosamine and/or chondroitin will help cartilage formation. Does anyone have any personal experience with these? Does anyone know any more solid facts than the couple of sentences on Wikipedia?
Thanks!

Personally I don’t know, but my dad used to take glucosamine for his joint pain when he was in training for a marathon, and it worked for him.
Hope this helped.
My mom’s dog has pretty bad arthritis and her vet prescribed that. So far it seems to be working pretty well. The dog is acting much perkier and in much less pain. Almost back to her normal self.
Men’s health magazine covered this subject not too long ago. Only 1-3% of people respond in most studies. You are better off treating the symptoms with an NSAID, and taking in 2-4 grams of fish oil a day. It’s also cheaper too.
They have to be taken together, but yes, most people will notice a reduction in joint pain. I have to take it every day or I can’t use my hands.
