I will get terrible knee pain and ankle pain when my feet are get cold. I will have to wear socks and eventually it will go away or I will have to take motrin. I think its associated with my feet being cold but I tried looking online to see if they are related but I haven’t found anything. The pain is just an aching feeling. Any ideas?

When I cross my leg, (left foot on top of right knee) I have a sharp, constant pain. What is it, what caused it and is there any way to treat it or make it better without surgery?

My husband, a disabled vet, has really bad knees. He is in very bad pain, and spends alot of time on his feet at work. We are working with the VA to get a double knee replacement (which was recommended over 15 years ago and he’s put it off) In the mean time, though, his pain is worse every day. He has some pain medications (several different ones), but doesn’t want to just live on them all the time, so he uses them very sparingly. He comes home from work every day and just keeps ice packs on his knees to numb them until he has to get up and go again the next day. It breaks my heart to see him so miserable. Are there any effective ways other than more drugs to help him until he can get the medical intervention that he needs? Preferably something we can do at home.
By the way, he is only 39 years old, and we have 3 young children that he wants to be able to be active with.
I am having knee pain that is hurting on the back side of my knee and coming around to the front on the outside and under my knee cap. Does anybody know what this is?? I do not remember hurting it all. Thanks
I get pains in my knee occasionally, most often when I run, but sometimes it just starts hurting for no apparent reason. This has been happening on and off for 2 or 3 years, and is normally not very bad. It just feels like someone is stabbing loads of little needles into the muscle on the outside of my right knee, in the muscle on the far right of my leg that goes from the knee up the thigh. Does anyone know what might be the problem and whether this is treatable or whether it’s just something I will have to live with.
Thanks.
I have had pain in one of my knees after doing a squatting exercise a couple weeks ago. I’m not sure if it’s strained or what, but I’ve kind of let it be, which isn’t the smartest thing to do, I know. Recently the tendonitis in my ankle has flared up and now there are two areas of the same leg that are killing me so I’m trying to find a remedy for my knee. Any help at all would be much appreciated.
I have a knee pain whereby my knee cap hurts when I bend my leg. When my leg is stretched out there is no problem, but when I run or bend it I feel pain.
I’ve tried an "Infraphil" IR lamp (3 x 10 minutes per day), but what else should I do?
How come whenever i use the leg extension weight machine, i get a small pain in my left knee. Its only at a certain angle, about 80 degrees. This happens even on the lowest weights. My legs are not tired and im not straining, but when i get to that certain angle, i feel that pain in my left knee. What is it from? What can i do about it?
My husband broke his leg a few years ago and is experiencing hip and knee pain that is not releived by Aleve. Is there a homeopathic solution?
I am running to get ready to go to Marine Corps boot camp, today during my run I got a sharp pain on the outside of my left knee but I couldn’t stop because I was running with the other recruits. After I got home I noticed that it hurt worse when I went down the stairs. It feels like bone rubbing against bone, I have had these pains before but I always just stopped working out and they went away after a few days. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I want to be able to do this when I get to boot camp without hurting so much.
I have had pain in my knees since I was a little kid. The pain is similar to headaches. The pain always happened at random times. I still have the problem, but mostly around "that time" of the month. I was never active as a child, or now. And I consider myself to be of average weight, if that helps.
I’ve been playing football all my life and now I begin to feel pain in my right knee cap. I know its an overuse injury but specifically i’m not sure whats causing it. The pain is at its worst if I lay on my back with my legs in the air but bent at the knee, so my knee joint is supporting my lower leg which would be parallel to the floor. Any ideas on if this would be ligaments, tendons, meniscus, synovial fluid, cartilage etc?
I have hurt my foot but I also have knee pain with it. Is that pain connected to the foot pain or is it referred (my foot is making my knee hurt)
Thanks now I am not worried about my knee but I am still worried about my foot!
I had a terrible fall 3 months ago, and my knee is screwed up. I have had physio and the pain starts shortly after I finish my physio.
When i’ve been out on my road bike for long rides (50+ miles) i get a very specific pain on the inside of my left knee cap. im using shimano spd pedals and cleats how can i eliminate this?
When i do runs over 3 miles i get knee pain but its not pain that i cant stand. Also when after 2 miles i srt experiencing calve cramps. I run in a pair of Nike edge. I was wondering if this is normal.
I ran a marathon a couple of years ago and after it, I was left with a little bit of pain in my right knee (the lower part to be exact) it is a debilitating pain. I have kept running but the pain never goes away. I am sure it is very common, but I was wondering if someone knows of a good home remedy. I don’t want to stop running.
I have been having knee pain for nearly two months now, but recently it has gotten worse, so I did some research on the internet. I think I have patellofemoral pain syndrome. Does anyone else out there know anything about this and its prognosis? Would the doctor tell me to go to physical therapy?
My symptoms:
Ache in knee after sitting with knee bent after long periods of time, pain when squatting and lunging. I can run and everything fine though?
So do I you think I have this?
No history of injury to any of these joints. The pain is in both ankles and knees. X-rays reveal nothing wrong structurally.
Have pretty good running shoes as well as a brand new pair of Puma spikes for the 100, 200 and 400. I’m sort of doubting the shoes thing, BUT flip-flops are worn that majority of the time.
My dad is getting older… and he has knee pain… too many years of running in his younger days… I suggested he get some Dr.Scholls, since the more comfy the shoes, the better they probably are on the knees… do you have bad knees? or know anyone with them… what did they use?
I wore wrong shoes when running and kept twisting my knee around and now theres a sharp pain on the side of my right knee and when I walk my knee like gives way. It jerks foward when I put weight on it and then it kind of shakes under pressure. Do I need a knee brace? Because it hurts really bad to run now but I have to keep running for sports.
